LECHLADE brought the season down on their only year in Premier Two with a four-run success at Keynsham.

The Manor Ground outfit will return to the Glos/Wilts Division next year due to the restructuring of the leagues, despite them finishing the campaign in sixth place.

The West of England Premier League have scrapped the division that Joe Breet's side play in, meaning they return to the level at which they were crowned champions of 12 months ago.

The Keynsham win was not built on the usual batting heroics from their South African star Brad Dial, but instead courtesy of a solid performance from Benny Ellis and a fine bowling display from player-coach Luke Sellers.

All-rounder Ellis came to crease with Lechlade in trouble at 52-3, which soon became 60-4, and he played a watchful innings as he struck an unbeaten 63 off 93 balls which included eight boundaries.

However, none of the other batsmen could offer Ellis much support as they were bowled out for 169 with Sam Pollinger and Josh Tasman-Jones both picking up three wickets apiece.

Keynsham had reached 31 without loss before Sellers removed James Mitchell, Russ Wakefield and Tasman-Jones in quick succession to leave them reeling at 36-3.

Cameron Herring (15) and Daniel Jarman (19) set about repairing the damage before Tristian Hawkes and then Ellis removed the Keynsham batsmen.

Ellis also picked up the wicket of James Turpin to finish his 10 overs with 2-32, while Sellers claimed 4-16 from his 10 before Dial wrapped up the narrow victory with the wicket of Reggie Keates (40).
