POLICE are appealing for information after a 19-year-old woman was assaulted in Swindon.

The young woman was walking alone through an alleyway between Commercial Road and Eastcott Hill in the town centre at about 4pm on Wednesday, August 5, when she became aware of two men.

They began shouting at the woman, before one of them grabbed her and pushed her against the wall.

Both men were shouting in an aggressive manner and, as a result of the incident, the woman sustained bruising to her neck.

The first man is described as white, aged in his mid 20s, over 6ft tall with dark brown hair, brown eyes and a square silver stud in his ear.

He was wearing a light grey Adidas tracksuit with stripes down the arms. He had the hood up.

The second man is described as white, also in his mid 20s, with blonde or ginger hair, with a tattoo showing beneath his cuff, wrapping around one of his fingers. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a black hooded top.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "We believe this was an isolated incident and we are following a number of lines of enquiry to identify the men.

"Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have information which could help police with their investigation should call PC Holly Moffat at Gablecross on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if preferred."
