A MAN who admitted carrying a knife outside a Swindon club has been warned he could face jail.
When Jake Stratford, 22, of Collingsmead, Eldene, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, he admitted having the blade outside Foxies, in Theatre Square, last month.
He was found with the six-inch kitchen knife early on August 16 after police were called to the club.
Officers were alerted by door staff who said Stratford had flashed a knife at them.
When police found Stratford he had a strong smell of alcohol and was struggling to stand, the court heard.
They searched him and found the blade tucked into the waistband of his jeans.
While he fully admitted having the knife he claimed he was so drunk he did not know how he came to have it.
He has been bailed to return to Swindon Magistrates’ Court on September 25 for sentencing.
