Something Fishy with Simon Rhodes of the Lobster Pot Fishmongers, Wood Street Food Hall, Swindon

THIS Sunday is the Old Town Sausage and Ale trail, and I make no excuse for promoting this and getting excited about it as last year it proved great fun and a massive success.

After huge crowds that took us all by surprise, the traders, landlords and restaurateurs of Old Town are ready for Sunday.

At the Wood Street Foodhall we have combined some wonderful mouth-watering flavours to produce some great tasting sausages. For example we have Vodka and Beetroot, Champagne and Orange and a more traditional Beef and Ale sausage, to name but a few.

We have also created a fish kofta; a spiced fish mix shaped into a sausage.

At the front of the shop I will be making an Indian Fish Curry using ingredients from The Little Turban sauces whose flavours include Not So Spicy Goan Vindaloo, Tangy and Aromatic Makhani Masala, Robust Red Rajasthani Curry, Fruity and Rustic Apple Dhansak, and Intensively Rich Moghlai Qorma.

Also, Mei Willoughby will be demonstrating her Chinese sauces and pickles which she makes here in Swindon.

Food and drink will play an important part in the festivities and it should showcase the best of what Swindon has to offer.
