STARS of the future now have a chance to sign up to a new stage school operating out of Commonweal School.

Ellie Marsden, who runs five London franchises of My Stage School, has launched the weekly theatre arts school from the Old Town secondary as part of her expansion into the West Country, offering Swindon youngsters the opportunity to hone their skills and develop their talents.

"It doesn't matter if they have done anything before of if it is their first time," said Ellie.

"I also aim to guide students on whatever path they choose whether it be to build confidence and stand on stage with ease or build a career in the performing arts or even audition for a west end show.

"It might be a particularly shy is very very shy, and the teachers can transform them into a performer singing solos on stage.

"Meanwhile those who are very very keen have a chance to complement what they can already do with other lessons. These days those looking for a career need to be able to sing, dance and do drama, so those who are particularly good at ballet or tap can also benefit from singing and drama classes.

"We have shows and reviews every single term not just at the end of the year so the kids get plenty of experience in performing and wowing their parents with what they've learned."

On Saturday children can head to the school to take part in a morning of trials with their parents before the term starts next week.

Prices for two to four-year-olds are £100 per term, which last around 12 weeks, £150 for four to six-year-olds and £295 for six to 18-year-olds, equivalent to £8 per hour.
