MILLBROOK Primary School strives to reach every child’s potential by nurturing learning as a life-long process and challenging youngsters in an open and creative environment.

The school was created out of an amalgamation of Windmill Hill Primary and Freshbrook Primary.

It also boasts modern facilities after opening a sleek, purpose-built building in 2009.

The cornerstone to life at Millbrook is the bid to create thoughtful and confident citizens, which influences the lessons taught and the extra-curricula activities the children take part in.

Headteacher Karen Pyman said: “At Millbrook we aim to produce thoughtful, confident citizens that understand, respect and promote the values of our country and society.

“At Millbrook Primary School we value learning and see it as a life-long process.

“We seek to create an open and creative school where all are valued, supported and challenged.

“Everyone receives regular praise and encouragement to be the best they can possibly be.

“Our learning community is based on honesty, integrity and responsibility borne out of mutual respect.

“At Millbrook Primary School we respond to challenges in creative and flexible ways which demonstrate our values and inspire a positive culture.

“We continually aim for excellence by providing a high quality for each young person in a caring and safe environment.”

Pupils also have a varied extra-curricula offering, with opportunities to play sports and learn musical instruments alongside the national curriculum.

The school also has a pre-school for the littlest learners, Caterpillars, for children up to three.
