A MOTORCYCLIST suffered serious injures after colliding with a people carrier yesterday evening.

The 25-year-old man from Swindon was driving a blue Honda motorcycle when he collided with a blue Opel MPV in Bramble Road in the Techno Trading Estate near Stratton.

Emergency services attended the scene and the motorcyclist was taken to the Great Western Hospital with serious injuries.  He was later transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.  The driver of the people carrier, a 57-year-old man, also from Swindon, was uninjured in the collision.

The incident happened shortly before 6.40pm on September 19, and police closed the road for around five hours while members of the Triforce Collision Investigation Unit carried out enquiries.

Police are now looking to hear from witnesses who have not already come forward to assist their investigation. Anyone who saw the collision, or saw the vehicles involved shortly before the incident, are urged to contact Wiltshire Police's Roads Policing Unit on 101 or telephone Crimestoppers where information can be left anonymously if preferred on 0800 555111.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "At about 1842 hours this evening on Saturday the 19th of September 2015, a two-vehicle road traffic collision occurred along Bramble Road Swindon outside the Freedog Urban Activity Centre. This collision involved a blue Honda motorcycle and a blue opal MPV. 

"The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old man from Swindon, was seriously injured as a result of the collision. He was initially taken to the Great Western Hospital, Swindon, and then transferred to Southmead hospital in Bristol. The driver of the opal, a 57-year-old man from Swindon, was uninjured. 

"Police officers from the Triforce Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene, which remained closed for around five hours whilst an investigation was carried out. 

"We would like to appeal for any witnesses who have not yet come forward who saw the collision, or the vehicles involved immediately before the collision.
