ONE of the victims of an horrific crash involving four cars north of Highworth on Friday night has been named locally as former Swindon College student Oliver Williams.

The 23-year-old Lechlade lad had been the driver of a red Ford Fiesta which collided with a silver Honda s2000 shortly after 9.30pm on the A361 at Upper Inglesham.

But the minor shunt turned into a more disastrous scene when Ollie and a silver Ford Fusion also driven by a male, smashed into each other head on, the impact of the collision killing both drivers.

Emergency services attended the crash, between Highworth and Lechlade, and a section of the road from the Gloucestershire border was closed for more than seven hours.

It was not until around 5am on Saturday morning that all four vehicles were recovered from the road.

Tributes have been posted on social media for Oliver after friends and family were left stunned at the news.

Adam Pitts said: "I am devastated one of my closest friends has been taken away! He was always there for me whenever I needed him, he always knew how to make people laugh and smile, Ollie you will always be remembered never forgotten R.I.P brother ❤"

Dean Woolgar said: "I can't believe it's happened we had so many good memories together ones I will never forget, will be having a good drink for you tonight kid R.I.P Oliver Williams ❤"

Police have urged any witnesses to the collision to come forward as they piece together the movements of the cars involved.
