Market manager Kardien Gerbrandstalks about Swindon farmers' markets

IF you draw a 30-mile radius, the region around Swindon is absolutely packed with artisan food producers of every kind.

These tiny, often one-man/woman or family-based, businesses haven’t always got the time or resources to attend endless numbers of markets. With this situation in the forefront of her mind Kerry Gover,  set about creating PinkBox Boutique; Artisan Food Hall. PinkBox creates partnerships with some of the finest local food producers and makers and brings their produce to markets and food shows under the PinkBox Boutique Banner.

We are delighted that PinkBox has decided to start trading with us at the Designer Outlet Farmers’ Market every Sunday.

In the run up to Christmas they will be bringing Stainswick Farm Rapeseed Oils & Dressings from Shrivenham; Seven Hills Artisan Chocolate Bars, which are handmade by Nick Shearn just outside of Bath (everything from milk chocolate through to an 85% dark with 15 different flavour combinations; Dried Fruit Rustic Garlands and Rings, the classic Christmas decoration of slices of orange, spiced, dried and handmade in Winchcomb; and while our regular honey man has run out of honey, PinkBox will also have raw honey from Hive Originals in Devizes on the stall.

Ragged Stone Cider also returns to the market this week with a great selection of bottled ciders and perrys and grape wines, all made from produce grown on the Bromesberrow Estate, plus beers from Hillside Brewery, while recent starter Jack Bakes also returns with “free from” cakes.
