FAMILY and friends continued their efforts to find Paul Griffiths in Bristol yesterday with an anniversary walk from The Priory Hospital.

The 60-year-old, of Clifton Street in Swindon, was last seen at about 11.30am last Tuesday outside the hospital, where he was being treated for anxiety and depression.

After a marathon search by more than 100 people on Saturday, Paul’s family and friends and Avon & Somerset Constabulary followed up with a walk retracing the steps Paul might have taken.

Ann Meus, 50, of Goddard Avenue, a friend of Paul’s, was among the group of 30 speaking to people and handing out flyers around the Stapleton area of Bristol yesterday.

“Every time we do it, it’s worth doing. The people in Bristol are amazing. Everyone says they have seen the appeals and seem happy to talk,” she said. “They all take the new flyers and are just amazing to deal with.” Ann said the group, which was geared towards raising awareness rather than searching for Paul, had handed out new, more personal posters from the family.

She said the support shown by people in Swindon was encouraging to Paul’s family.

“I did feel there weren’t that many people around today,” she said. “There were the usual dog walkers around, but being the middle of the week it seemed a lot quieter, “I spoke to Yazmin (Paul’s daughter) about how she felt and she reiterated how the continued support from all the family and friends from Swindon is what keeps them going.

“Anything they hear obviously gives them hope. It’s always going to be hard, but people are still positive and they keep believing.”

The family is planning a sit and watch in the coming days in Bristol, where, rather than seeking out people, small groups will sit together and speak to members of public who pass them.

Det Insp Peter Highway said: “We have conducted several lines of inquiry since Paul was reported missing and we have carried out extensive searches in the area local to where he was last seen.

“I am really keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Paul last Tuesday morning on or around Heath House Lane, Bristol, or in the local area since that time.

“Any information, no matter how small or insignificant you might think it is, could be crucial to us finding Paul.”

Paul is described as white with light grey/brown hair and about 5ft 7in tall.

It is possible that he could be in the Bristol or Swindon areas.
