POLICE were told of a laser pen being shone at moving vehicles and passers-by from a building in Princes Street at about 1.30am on Sunday, October 4.

The report has now been passed on to the local Neighbourhood Policing Team to carry out further enquiries.

Officers would like to remind people of the dangers of shining laser pens, which could temporarily blind a driver or cause them to take their eyes off the road. Anyone with information should call 101.

Police investigating the theft of a child's mountain bike from outside the Central Library on August 3 have now arrested and charged a man.

Darren Burke, 22, of Edinburgh Street, has been charged with theft and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court on October 28.

Homeless Benjamin Martin, 19, has been charged with theft following police enquiries into an incident which occurred on September 30 in Fleming Way in which a bike was stolen from a 20-year-old man.

Martin will appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court on October 21.

Police are investigating an assault in the High Street, Highworth, at about 11.30pm on Saturday, October 3.

A 47-year-old sustained a head injury as a result. Anyone who saw the incident should call police on 101.

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in Corporation Street at about 1.40am on Sunday, October 4.

A 32-year-old man suffered hand injuries and was taken to Great Western Hospital.

The offender is described as aged in his mid 30s, heavily built with black hair and big eyes. Anyone with information should call police on 101.

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Beaumaris Road shortly before 9am on Wednesday, October 7.

A report was received that a driver in a Ford KA had driven into a garden fence and then left the scene without leaving any details. It is believed the driver came from the Toothill direction.

Anyone who witnessed the incident should call police on 101.

Police would like to speak to witnesses after two women, aged 22 and 28, were assaulted by two women outside a kebab shop in Fleet Street at about 2.40am on Thursday, October 8. The two women sustained minor injuries. Anyone who saw what happened should call police on 101.

The windscreen of a vehicle was smashed and a handbag and purse were stolen some time between 2.50pm and 3.30pm. Anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity should call police on 101.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident at about 9.15pm on Wednesday, October 7, in which a 26-year-old pizza delivery driver was assaulted when delivering a pizza to an address in Peatmoor.

The man has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A 25-year-old woman from London was given a fixed penalty notice shortly after 6.40am today after she was detained by security staff at Tesco in Ocotal Way for attempting to steal items.
