A NUMBER of properties, as well as lights at a pedestrian crossing, in Old Town are without power after a fuse blew this morning and it may take until this evening to reconnect the supply.
Up to 40 houses, shops and offices have been hit by the outage with Scottish and Southern Electric Power Distribution at frist saying they hope to have the electricity back on by 2pm.
The power first went out at 10.45am and an engineer is now on site to deal with the problem.
At 2.15pm SSE PD updated its fault reference AA9733 to say that power may not be reconnected until 7.30pm.
A SSE spokesman said: “We received a call that the power had gone earlier today and we are now dealing with the issue.
“We want to apologies to our customers for any inconvenience caused.”
