ANY parent pushed to screaming point with yet another rendition of The Wheels on the Bus will be delighted with the arrival of a new kind of singing group for babies and tots opening up in Swindon next month.

Wrap Stars will feature modern, fun songs and hopefully work towards public performances, including flash mobs, throughout 2016.

It is the brainchild of Abby Mansi, a musical director of several local choirs including BigSingThing, as well as musical theatre tutor for the prominent Tanwood School for Performing Arts.

As a mum of Hugo, two, and Toby, five months, Abby is no stranger to standard sing-along sessions.

“Twinkle twinkle, little star has its merits,” she says, “but it’s not necessarily on everyone’s top ten songs list.

“Singing groups aimed at children are fantastic, but it’s hard to find time to socialise and enjoy your own hobbies when you have a new little one in the family.” So she decided to set up a new choir which aims to strike a balance between developing those young minds, and offering the adults some light-hearted relief in the form of singing songs they love.

No singing experience is required to join in the groups.

“Just bring a baby,” says Abby.
