AN INFLATABLE dinosaur signalled the start of a charity walk inspired by Kyle Truman, who has a lifethreatening condition.

The fun t-rex costume was donned by Luke Winton, assistant leader of the 19th Swindon Scout Group, as part of a seven-mile walk in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK.

A troop of intrepid scouts donned Halloween-inspired zombie, dinosaur and grim reaper outfits to raise money for the charity.

They were joined by five-yearold Kyle from Walcot, who was diagnosed with genetic condition Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy last year.

The muscle-weakening condition, which only affects boys, means Kyle has difficulty walking, standing up and running and will need a wheelchair as his muscles deteriorate.

Luke said the troop got the idea for the fundraiser after Kyle’s mum Natasha visited the group to give a talk. “I think it really hit home with the kids when Kyle’s mum Natasha said that he would need a wheelchair in a few years’ time. They just really wanted to help,” he said.

Luke said he was nervous but excited about the prospect of wearing the seven foot tall costume on the walk
