A CAMPAIGN to see a brand new Boeing 787 Dreamliner named in memory of teenager Jess Farrow has seen the votes almost double in less than 24 hours.

And now her family have thanked the people of Swindon who have helped them take a step closer to their dream of seeing Jess’s name fly above the clouds.

The 15-year-old’s life was tragically cut short on June 22 this year, and now her family are determined to see her legacy live on and have entered into a competition that could see one of Thomson’s brand new multi-million pound jets carry her name.

On Tuesday afternoon the family petition – which, if successful, will see a Thomson Boeing 787 Dreamliner named Angel Wings Jess – had 1,319 signatures.

By the early afternoon today that total had rocketed to 2,338 and on Thursday morning it was 2,564.

Jess’s aunt Joanne Farrow said she couldn’t believe how quickly the tally of votes had risen.

She said: “I was keeping an eye on the amount of votes last night and just couldn't believe how fast they were growing.

"It's very heart-warming that the people of Swindon are taking the time to vote for Jess.

"Thanks to everyone who has voted and shared it means so much.”

At the end of the competition the top five entries with the most votes will be submitted to a judging panel made up of Thomson Airways staff who will pick the winning names. The firm is understood to have placed an order for eight of the multi-million pound aircraft.
