A POLICE helicopter was forced to abandon its search for a suspicious vehicle at midday due to the wet and windy weather conditions that swept into the county.
NPAS Filton had been tasked to assist with the search as Storm Barney began to pound Swindon, but turned back after weather hit them en route.
A spokesman for the National Police Air Service said: "12pm Swindon, Wiltshire. Assist with the search for a suspicious vehicle. Forced to abandon the flight due to abysmal weather en-route."
