Croft Road in Swindon is currently closed after a crash saw a car end up on its roof.

Firefighters, paramedics and police remain at the scene of the crash, where a black vehicle is on its roof.

An eye witness at the scene said: "It happened at approximately 2pm, it seems to be just one car involved with a young female driver who got out apparantly not badly injured just seconds after the incident.

"Emergency services arrived on scene within minutes. There seems to have been impact with a telephone and post box, causing the vehicle to roll over on its roof.

"Croft Road is currently closed in both directions."

At 2.40pm a spokeswoman for the South Western Ambulance Service said that paramedics were still at the scene. She said: "We were called at 2pm to the road traffic collision involving one patient - a woman in her 20s. She got herself out of the car."

A spokeswoman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said that one crew from Swindon fire station had attended the scene, and had left the scene by 2.50pm.

She said: "We were only required at the incident for scene safety, as the woman involved had got out of the car under her own steam.

"The car was on its roof but nobody was trapped. The vehicle had been in collision with a telephone kiosk.

"BT were called to attend to make sure the kiosk was safe."

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: "Police are currently in attendance at an incident in Croft Road, Swindon, near to the East Wichel traffic lights.

"We received a call at 2pm reporting that a car had overturned at the scene.

"Traffic is being diverted away from the scene while the vehicle is made safe and there is a closure in place near to Newport Street.

"A phone box and post box have been damaged as a result of the incident."
