FOOTBALLERS from across the town braved the miserable weather on Sunday and laced up their boots to raise money for charity.
A special five-a-side football tournament which was held on pitches at Kingsdown School to raise cash for the Prince's Trust.
The event was organised by Richard White, a private banking manager with Natwest, and the teams were made up from employees at other local businesses.
Winners T Fleck went through the whole tournament uneaten, without conceding a goal.
In total, just over £300 was raised for the charity and despite the rain high winds everyone had a good time.
Richard said: “We had all sorts of weather but everyone enjoyed it. There were a few bruises and sore legs the next morning but we raised a good amount.
“I especially want to thank Kingsdown School who donated the pitches free of charge which saved us quite a bit of money.
"It was very kind and allowed a great day, giving us a great opportunity to raise money for the Prince's Trust.
“Quite a few people were asking me when the next one was on so hopefully we can do another in the summer when the weather is a bit better.”
