TEAM members from Swindon Wildcats ice-hockey team and their mascot Willie drew in the crowds at the National Self Build and Renovation Show (NSBRC)yesterday. Fri

As club partners and the official sponsors of Wildcats defender Matt Selby, organisers of the NSBRC were delighted to have some of the team on hand to add some extra glitz and glamour to the exhibition which will run until tomorrow, Sunday.

Located at Lydiard Fields, Great Western Way, the NSBRC Visitor Centre welcomes people from all over the UK who are designing and building their own houses or looking to renovate or improve their existing homes.

And to celebrate entering its tenth year, NSBRC is hosting its popular ‘National Self Build & Renovation Show’ this weekend.

“Our aim is to inspire, educate and provide impartial advice for our visitors so they can make well informed decisions during their projects,” said NSBRC Managing Director Harvey Fremlin.

“This show is one of the biggest self-build events of the year and an ideal opportunity for people to benefit from this amazing, free resource."

The show this year promises an unrivalled line-up of experts that include architects, project managers, designers, planners and eco consultants – all of whom are on hand to offer free guidance and advice.

It is the ideal opportunity for anyone planning a major project to gather ideas or simply get a second opinion before making a key purchase.

Visitors are invited to bring their plans and sketches along to the show and take advantage of the free one-to-one sessions.

The NSBRC’s own expert team will also be on hand to take people on guided tours of their Life Size Renovation House and Self Build Journeys, answering questions along the way.

Each day four theatres will feature more than 20 seminars and demonstrations, exploring everything from budgeting and plot finding to the latest building regulations and planning news.

The NSBRC’s own team of experts will also share their top tips for sourcing tradespeople and buying materials.

Tickets for the show are £12 per adult but readers the Swindon Advertiser can claim FREE tickets by booking online and selecting special booking code: Adver16
