THE Super Bowl is here. Late into Sunday night, two teams will fight it out in the ultimate spectacular showdown.

Topped only by the Olympics and the FIFA World Cup, this predominantly American sport gets its one shot of world domination every February.

Last year’s Super Bowl was the biggest viewed in history. More than 160 million tuned in to see the New England Patriots lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy for a fourth time.

This year, we see a changing of the guard. The Denver Broncos veteran quarterback Peyton Manning has openly declared this will be his “last rodeo”.

Facing the Broncos are the Carolina Panthers, a team most pundits wrote off as an outsider chance at best.

At the helm is quarterback “Superman” Cam Newton.

At 6ft 4in and nearly 18 stone, Newton has the athletic ability of an Olympian and a cannon of a throw. Newton is only 26-years-old and has been smashing records from his very first NFL game 5 years ago.

In 2015, it has all come together for Newton and the Panthers. Now, for the first time, they have the team to match his ability and have gone unbeaten all season.

I LIVED in Colorado when the Giants beat the Broncos in Super Bowl XXI.

I watched the game in a pizzeria and had plastic beer jugs thrown at me every time I cheered when the Giants made a good play.

I did duck quite a few jugs that day.

Coloradans love their Broncos, and they can’t stand to see them lose.

I don’t think they will be too happy after the Super Bowl, when the the Cam Newton Express hits the field in Frisco.

All in all, I don’t think that the Broncos will have a chance in this one.

While the Broncos got to Tom Brady, they won’t get to Cam.

Even if they do get past the O-line, they still have catch him.

The Panthers defense is very scary, and Peyton won’t be able to get set in order to get a pass off.

The Denver Broncos offence isn’t that high-scoring, so the key question is can their defence hold the Carolina Panthers to less than 20 points?

Denver’s defence has been outstanding all season; last week, they won because they disrupted the New England Patriots’ passing game.

This time around, they are facing a QB who has the ability to run past you as easily as he can throw it. No defence has really been able to stop Newton – the Panthers’ only issue seems to be taking their foot off the gas when they get so far ahead.

Swindon Storm Seniors A physically broken yet mentally strong Peyton Manning is still a threat to any team due to his high football IQ.

However, the highly entertaining Cam Newton is on a hot streak and has athletic ability by the bucketload. Panthers’ high-scoring will be hard to stop.

Comfortable win for the Panthers.
