A 14-year-old who admitted wielding a knife in a threatening Facebook video was given a referral order.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to sending the video to another boy on December 17 last year. He threatened to wait for the boy after school, frightening the boy.

Due to his early guilty plea and lack of previous convictions the boy was given a five-month referral order and a warning at a Swindon youth court.

Magistrates have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man who failed to carry out unpaid work as part of a court order.

Stefano Bertoni was due in court on Monday to answer a charge of not attending unpaid work sessions imposed as part of a community order in November last year on three separate occasions.

After the 41-year-old, of Crombey Street, failed to attend court on Monday the magistrates issued a warrant for his arrest without bail.

A car dealer will stand trial charged with selling cars not deemed to be in a roadworthy condition.

Michael Barbato was not present for his hearing at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Monday afternoon, but his defence entered not guilty pleas on his behalf.

Barbato, 55, of Oakham Close, will stand trial at Swindon Magistrates' Court on April 8.
