A MOTORCYCLIST has been seriously injured in a crash with a car in Tewkesbury Way.
Police, paramedics and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance were called to the incident near the Mannington Roundabout at 8.30am.
The motorcyclist, a Swindon man in his 20s, was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he is underwent surgery.
He is expected to remain in intensive care at Southmead for at least 24 hours.
The driver of the car, a grey Vauxhall hatchback, was unhurt.
A section of Tewkesbury Way was closed in both directions, which caused traffic disruption in the area.
Police collision investigators assessed the scene with the road being reopened after 2pm.
Stagecoach was diverting services 8 and 9 via Stokesay Drive and Flint Hill due to the closure.
Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
