EMERGENCY services are at the scene of a crash in Pipers Way, involving two cars and a cyclist.

The cyclist is thought to be knocked into the road as the cars crashed and to have suffered leg injuries.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 4.40pm to reports of two cars in a collision on Pipers Way.

"We sent two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle to the scene.

"The cyclist has leg injuries and there are indications that there is a further patient in one of the vehicles.”

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We received several 999 calls at approximately 4.35pm reporting a road traffic collision in Pipers Way, near to the junction for Wakefield House, Swindon.

“Two vehicles and a cyclist are believed to be involved.

“Ambulance crews are also attending the scene although the full extent of the injuries is not known at this stage.

“Drivers should seek an alternative route at this time as there is expected to be traffic delays while the incident is dealt with.”
