The award-winning comedian and TV star shares insights in his latest show, writes MARION SAUVEBOIS

IN HIS new show, Keep It Light, Sean Lock waxes lyrical about his newfound love of ballet.

Yes ballet – it’s not a typo. Because his list of interests is teasingly diverse he will also touch on jewellery heists, his own behaviour on the internet and refute (or maybe not?) any suggestion he is in the midst of mid-life crisis. He freely admits that his stand-up is the product of a hyperactive imagination. All in all what we get is a hilarious combination of surreal imagery and insightful observations on the human condition.

Over the last 20 years Sean has toured extensively with shows including Lockipedia and Purple Van Man. He’s a team captain on Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Cats Does Countdown, and a regular on QI and Dave’s Argumental. Sean has won a string of awards: a British Comedy Award for best stand-up and a Time Out Comedy Award, he was also nominated for a Perrier Award for his show No Flatley, I Am The Lord Of The Dance.

He wrote and starred in his own BBC sitcom 15 Storeys High as Vince, a lifeguard who lives in a South London tower block. He also wrote and presented Believe It Or Not on BBC4 and The Great British Sunday where he looked at what Sundays always meant to him – from hangovers and Jack Hargreaves to Sunday school, stately homes and utter boredom.

Despite his busy schedule he remains a regular at London’s Comedy Store and is a fixture of comedy festivals the world over.

Sean Lock appears at the Wyvern Theatre tomorrow night at 8pm. The show is sold out. For future tour dates go to offthekerb.co.uk/sean-lock.
