THE woman who died in a crash on the A346 last week has been named by police.

Rose Miller, 64, from Salisbury, was killed in the crash on the main road between Marlborough and Swindon on Thursday.

Emergency services were called at 1.45pm on Thursday to the A346 at Wet Pits Lane, near Ogbourne St Andrew to a crash involving three cars and a coach.

Police reported that the driver of a red Mazda MX5, from the Salisbury area, who had been heading north, suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene just after 3pm.

A Barnes coach, which did not have passengers onboard, was heading south.

As a result of the crash with the Mazda it also collided with a BMW and a Vauxhall Astra.

Another woman, suffering head injuries, was trapped in her car and fire crews from Marlborough and Swindon released her.

The coach driver, a 61-year-old man from the Swindon area, was taken to the Great Western Hospital suffering minor injuries and was kept in overnight for observation.

The road was blocked in both directions from Marlborough Golf Club to Chiseldon, finally reopening at 12.30am on Friday.
