A SINGLE mum-of-three has dropped nine dress sizes and lost six stone so she can become a ‘yummy mummy’.

Lisa Lawrence, 36, of Old Town, was a size 26 at her biggest after becoming pregnant with her second daughter Natalie in 2010.

Now a trim size eight, her success has inspired her to become a Slimming World consultant and help others on their weight loss journey.

The business analyst for Nationwide first put on a lot of weight after the birth of her daughter Bethany, now age 15, and this is when she joined Slimming World. She lost a couple of stone but stopped going.

Over time her weight crept back on and then returned to the yo-yo cycle. She also gained three stone when she was expecting her second daughter and being 5ft2 she said she felt as wide as she did tall.

“I tried all other diets over the years and would lose weight but then realised they didn’t educate me about poor eating habits which is why every time I stopped I started to gain weight again,” Lisa said.

“I had no confidence and a very low self-esteem. I would wear clothes bigger than the actual size to stop people staring and wouldn’t even be seen in public trying to exercise."

The turning point for her was when she was looking at holiday pictures.

“One thing that saddened me was there were no family photos having fun on the beach. I was always behind the camera and knew I had to do something,” she added.

Through healthy eating and Slimming World, Lisa is now in the best shape she has been in and enjoys being part of the supportive group, which sets goals and gives encouragement.

She also stills enjoys family meals guilt-free such as curries, fry-ups, fajitas and spaghetti bolognese.

Lisa, who is also mum to four-year-old Chloe, added: “My proudest moment is my teenage daughter recently commented on Facebook that I am a ‘yummy mummy’. That is a tremendous feeling.”

She is looking forward to helping others lose weight and is opening a new Slimming World group on Friday, April 1 at 9.30am at Moose Hall, Old Town.
