THE famous Swindon works hooter will sound again tomorrow to coincide with a series of commemorative trips by a classic GWR-built locomotive.
A collaboration between the Swindon and Cricklade Railway and Swindon175, it is part of the events celebrating 175 years since the founding of the Swindon works.
GWR 4247, a class 2-8-0T steam locomotive built in Swindon in 1916, will run from Taw Valley Halt, Moulden Hill, at noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm tomorrow.
