OLD TOWN: Festival Launch Race Night, the official launch event for the Old Town Festival takes place on Friday, at the Commonweal School.

The evening will include food, prizes and a raffle as well as plenty of opportuniets to win in eight video races.

The proceeds will go to the OTF 2016 Charity and TWIGS, a charity providing therapeutic gardening work.

Start time is 7pm with tickets priced at £10, including race cards. There will be a welcome drink and choice of meat or veg chilli, rice and garlic bread. Booked tables of six or more receive a free bottle of wine.

Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

SWINDON: A Civic Service of Thanksgiving for Swindon175 will be held on Sunday, June 26 at St Augustine's Church starting at 3pm.

It will be led by Revd Harvey Gibbons, priest in charge of St Augustine’s and the Bishop of Swindon, the Right Reverend Lee Rayfield will give the sermon. The service will also include readings and reflections on Swindon past, present and future and will include a short act of remembrance to remember all from the town who have died.

The service arranged in conjunction with Swindon175 will be followed by refreshments to be served in the church and grounds to which all attending the service are welcome to stay.
