YOUNGSTERS were out in force at the Swindon Literature's Youth Slam at the Arts Centre last Saturday when the heat was on to find the top young poets in the area.
Following wordshops in schools across the region, delivered by seasoned slammer Sara-Jane Arbury, the wittiest wordsters were invited to perform their most slamtastic poetry on stage and take part in some quick-fire wordplay.
Nine secondary schools took part in this year's twelfth Swindon Youth Slam with Dan Sutton, known as Dan from Chippenham school Sheldon taking home the prestigious winning cup. Team Sun In Samurai from Commonweal were second with Trembling With Confidence from Highworth Warneford were runners up.
