AFTER a sell-out tour in 2015, Whitney: Queen of the Night is returning to the Wyvern Theatre tonight.

A tribute to the career and life of one of the greatest singers of our time, the award-winning show features a stellar line-up with rising West End star Rebecca Freckleton delivering a powerhouse performance as Whitney Houston.

Taking us on a rollercoaster ride through three decades of classic hits, including I Wanna Dance With Somebody, One Moment In Time, I’m Every Woman, Saving All My Love and I will Always Love You, the production promises to keep the tragic performer’s voice and memory alive.

Houston is one of pop music's best-selling artists of all time, with an estimated 200m records sold worldwide. Throughout her career, she released seven studio albums and three movie soundtracks, all of which went to reach diamond, multi-platinum, platinum or gold status.

A consummate actress, her first lead role was in The Bodyguard in 1992. The film's original soundtrack won the 1994 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Its lead single, I Will Always Love You, became the best-selling single by a woman in music history. Houston went on to star in The Preacher's Wife and lend her voice to the film’s soundtrack, which was hailed as the best-selling gospel album in history.

She passed away in 2012 in Beverly Hills.
