AN author will continue her fight against domestic violence when she talks about her own experiences at Swindon’s Central Library.
Mandy Thomas, the mother of Swindon singer Jahmene Douglas, will discuss her latest book, You Can’t Run, at a special talk on Thursday, June 2, in the Second Floor Reading Room at 7.15pm.
A justice advocate and media commentator for domestic violence, Mandy was named a Survivor Ambassador for Women’s Aid for raising awareness and funds for domestic violence charities.
A poet, artist and photographer, Mandy has been a chief advisor to script writers of the popular Radio 4 programme The Archers for its current controversial storyline.
Tickets for the event are £2.50 (£1.50 library members) and are available from the Central Library Ground Floor Help Desk as well as all other Swindon Libraries.
