MYSTERIOUS masks and glamorous gowns will be the order of the day again at this year's Swindon Masked Summer Ball in aid of the NSPCC.

The stylish knees-up held at the luxurious Hilton Hotel in Great Western Way which has been a popular event on the town's calendar for more than 20 years is returning after a two-year break.

Yesterday the charity was out promoting the event with a reminder that tickets are still available for the glittering evening on Saturday, June 18.

Promising a packed evening of music and entertainment and featuring tributes to Abba, Tom Jones and Neil Diamond, plus a disco, the ball's special guest and Master of Ceremonies will be Martin Roberts, presenter of TV’s Homes Under the Hammer.

Mr Roberts will host a special auction in aid of the charity, with a range of exclusive items and experiences up for grabs and there will also be a raffle.

Alan Fletcher, chairman of Swindon Business Cares for Children and a long-time supporter of the NSPCC who organised the ball with support from Jeremy Holt, of Clark Holt Solicitors, said: “We are very excited to be bringing this event back to life, and it looks set to be the best we have ever organised.

“I would urge anyone looking for a fun night out, with fabulous food and entertainment, to come along. We still have a few tables left available so book soon to avoid disappointment.”

The black-tie evening starts with a drinks reception at 7.15pm, followed by dinner at 8pm, closing at 1am.

Caroline Morgan, NSPCC fundraising manager for Swindon, said: “This promises to be an absolutely fantastic evening, and I would like to thank Alan and everyone else who has made this possible."

“With 90 percent of NSPCC funding coming from donations, fundraising events allow us to provide the vital support services we do, as we continue our fight for every childhood.

“Please join us for what is sure to be a brilliant party for a worthy cause.”

Individual tickets are £60, while corporate tables are £700 for 10 places including chocolates and four bottles of wine. To book, contact Caroline on caroline.morgan@nspcc.org.uk or 01752 422 603.
