A 21-year-old man who caused £300 worth of damage to ornamental trees in the Kings Arm Hotel, Wood Street, on April 15 was fined at Swindon Magistrates' Court.

Kieran Hooton, of Chapel Street, also admitted having a quantity of cannabis resin in his possession. He was fined £245.

A man who helped steal a pedal cycle worth £926.75 from a woman has been ordered to pay £1,071.75 by the courts.

Lee Page, 24, of Holbein Court, Grange Park admitted the offence between March 12 and April 4. The amount will be deducted from his benefits and he must also carry out 100 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months.

A 28-year-old man who stole groceries and lager worth £58.34 from The Spa shop at Highworth Service Station has been fined. Calvin Smith, of Fairford Crescent, pleaded guilty at Swindon Magistrates' Court to the theft on April 19.

He must also take part in rehabilitation activity requirement days and pay £118.34.

A man has pleaded not guilty to three counts of harassment by using threatening words or behaviour. Giuseppe Bretti, 52, of Park Lane came before magistrates sitting in Swindon accused of the offences on May 25, 31, as well as July 23 last year towards Andrea Trunfio.

He will next appear in court in Chippenham on June 22. He was released on unconditional bail.

A 46-year-old man who admitted drink-driving was disqualified from driving for 25 months at Swindon Magistrates Court on May 11. Nathan Neate, of Milland Close, admitted driving in Derby Street on April 19 with a blood alcohol reading of 106mg.

He was also fined £1,000, and ordered to pay £175 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

A man who failed to attend two appointments with a probation officer after being released from prison has been fined £100.

Homeless Paul Francombe, 27, appeared before magistrates in Swindon, where he was fined for not turning up to meetings on December 24 and January 7. Francombe has until June 8 to pay.

A teenager has been disqualified from driving for six months after pleading guilty to driving along Drakes Way without a licence and insurance in a silver Renault Clio on April 21. Leon Thompson, 19, of Drakes Way, was also ordered to pay £465 by magistrates sitting in Swindon.

A man found drunk in Kingsdown Road has been ordered to pay £230 by Swindon magistrates. Alexander Brown, 29, of Colbourne Street, pleaded guilty to the offence on April 8.

A 20-year-old man who stole a £13 bottle of Jack Daniels and tried to steal two more from Sainsburys has been given a community order by Swindon Magistrates’ Court. Jamie Loveridge, of Dumbarton Terrace, Old Town, pleaded guilty to the offences which took place on April 18 and April 19. He has been ordered to carry out rehabilitation activity requirement days and pay £158.
