LEGENDARY locomotive the Flying Scotsman is expected to steam its way through Swindon this evening.
The North-East built train will plough its way through the Great Western Railway heartland of Swindon new town this evening shortly before 8pm The Adver understands.
It is currently running passenger excursions throughout the country and today has seen it travel from Holyhead through Crewe and Hereford making its way towards Bristol Parkway before eastwards to Swindon and onwards to London Paddington.
The Flying Scotsman has returned to the railway following a decade-long, £4million restoration.
Network Rail has advised those seeking to capture the moment on film not to trespass on the railway after a number of photographers were seen on the line on the East Coast main line during its inaugural run north. This led to numerous delays to timetabled passenger services, while the British Transport Police has launched an investigation into the matter.
