PUPILS at Liden Primary School were treated to a fun day of activities and learning when Team Superschools brought its popular programme to Swindon this week.

Team Superschools, an initiative that challenges children to get active and raise funds for sports equipment for their school, visited Liden Primary School on Monday 27 June and more than 300 students took part in a series of fun exercises that taught them how to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Jason Gardener MBE, Olympic medallist and co-owner of Team Superschools, said: “Our aim at Team Superschools is to create a fun and exciting environment for children to raise money for their school through the power of sport.

“It is great that so many kids were involved in sport at Liden Primary supported by Brioche Pasquier. It was a very fun and enjoyable day.”

Students were taken through a series of exercises throughout the day, from star jumps to sit ups and press ups, and have raised an estimated £2,000-£3,000 for their school so far.

Team Superschools is sponsored by French family bakery Brioche Pasquier which this year has visited more than 60 schools to teach kids about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Olivier Ripoche, commercial director at Brioche Pasquier, said: “At Brioche Pasquier we encourage a healthy lifestyle and sporting events like this show how much fun keeping active can be.

“We know how important it is to keep up energy throughout the day which is why we are refuelling all children taking part with a brioche roll from our PITCH range.

“We also provide every child who takes part in these events with a pedometer so they can see how active they have been throughout the day.”

Brioche Pasquier has created an authentic French experience using traditional recipes and processes to create their PITCH range.

The recipes have been passed down through generations of Pasquiers since Gabriel Pasquier opened the first small village bakery in 1936, and are still used today.

Paralympian swimmer Kate Grey was also in attendance to cheer on the 4-11 year olds and show them what it takes to make it to the top.

The swimmer lost her left hand in a sausage machine when she was just two years old while on holiday in Jersey and since then she has gone on to represent Great Britain at the European Championships, World Championships and the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.
