Chiseldon Family Fun Day and Music Festival, 11am, Chiseldon Recreation Ground, Chiseldon, Swindon. A group of GWH staff, family and friends, have organised a family fun day, officially opened by the Mayor of Swindon, including Swindon Samba Band, hog roast, cream teas, craft stalls, tombolas, Wroughton Silver Band, penalty shoot-outs, majorettes, beer tent, choirs, fairground rides, inflatables, face painting, and activity stands, followed by an evening of music entertainment from local bands Broken Image, Driving Force, Laylow, Homer, Young Vintage & Midlife Crisis. Raising funds for the new Radio Therapy Unit in Swindon as part of the Brighter Futures Appeal. These paintings and oil pastels continue to explore Swindon life, following Alone and Together, Brunel’s People, seen in Swindon and London venues throughout 2013/14. You are welcome to this and other exhibitions in the Made in Swindon Art Trail, helping to mark the 175th anniversary of Brunel’s Swindon based Great Western Railway.

Liddington Hill, the flat topped hill seen from many parts of Swindon, has defensive structures built on it. They look down on the site of Chiseldon Camp, which we will also visit on this 12-mile wander. Please wear clothes to suit the weather and stout shoes, bring a packed lunch and something to drink. Bring sun hat, sun cream, if hot, and binoculars if you have them. Suitable for dogs.
