TELEVISION favourite Dominic Littlewood has been out and about with Swindon’s boys in blue as they patrol the streets dishing out fines to those on the wrong side of the law.

Dom has been gathering film footage for his new 15-episode series called Dom on the Spot which will air on BBC1 in September.

It delves behind the statistics to follow the hardworking men and women charged with upholding the law, from speed camera operators to parking attendants, from council enforcers fining dog fouling to fly-tipping, from transport police chasing fare dodgers to road tax evaders.

And for the past month his film crew have been capturing footage in the town, as well as the rest of the country, as he gets a first-hand look at what the triforce team get up to daily, such as seizing vehicles without insurance and stopping drink-drivers.

Today was his last day filming with the town’s roads policing officers as they went about their duty to keep the roads safe.

Among the jobs they were called to was recovering a tail of a helicopter sculpture which had snapped off on the M4.

And it appears the officers have won his admiration as earlier this week Dom told his 11,000 Twitter followers: “Been riding shotgun with Swindon police @Tri_Force full respect for the job you do.”

He also dropped by Wiltshire Air Ambulance’s offices to meet staff last month.

But what exactly he has been getting up and where in Swindon he has been filming is being kept under wraps. However people have spotted him all over the county, including in Calne with an officer and a police dog.

Employees from Wiltshire Police have been sworn to secrecy and signed a disclaimer meaning they cannot reveal anything until the shows are broadcast.

And TwoFour Group, the production company behind the programme, was also tight-lipped over the filming.

They told the Adver: “Dom will be on the spot accompanying these officials, exploring why the fines are doled out and questioning why we break the law on a day to day basis. He will also be meeting the victims affected by these day-to-day crimes.

“It will be 15 episodes of 45 minutes each. Unfortunately we are unable to share further details until later this summer.”

But it’s not the first time the people’s champion has been in the town to film, as Dom previously came to record Channel 5’s Cowboy Builders with interior designer Gabrielle Blackman in 2014.

They helped an elderly Swindon couple left homeless after employing an unreliable young local builder to put an extension on their bungalow.

Dom also previously co-presented the show with Swindon’s very own glamour girl Melinda Messenger.
