A MAN has been discovered lying hurt in the middle of Manchester Road during the early hours of the morning.

Now police are appealing for anyone with any information that may help their inquiries to come forward.

Officers were called to the scene at around 1.52am on Saturday, June 25, after a report that a 30-year-old local man had sustained injuries and was lying in the middle of the road.

The ambulance service also attended and the man was taken to the Great Western Hospital suffering a shoulder injury and various cuts and bruises.

PC Tim O’Mahoney said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Manchester Road – especially anyone who was near to the Tap and Barrel pub between 1.30am and 2am on 25 June.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a green car at the junction of Manchester Road and Gladstone Street at approximately 1.30am.

“Any information you have, no matter how insignificant it may seem, may be crucial in helping us establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.”
