A BOY of 11 who sparked a search when he went missing in Swindon yesterday is back home with his family.

William Smith, known as Will, ran off at 4.30pm yesterday after being picked up from Lydiard Park Academy and was seen later that evening leaving shops in Toothill.

His worried family searched through the night and put out an appeal on social media.

He was located a short while ago and is now with his relieved mum Leeanne, from Peatmoor.

She told the Advertiser this morning: “There is nothing else we can do now, we have been searching all night.”

“I have never been in such a mess.

“He has got his mobile phone but it isn’t on any more.

"We’ve left a message telling him he’s not in trouble, just to come home.”

Det Insp Simon Childe, from Wiltshire Police, said earlier: "We would like to appeal to anyone who may know where William is to get in touch with police immediately.

“We’d also like to appeal directly to William to get in touch with a family member or friend or call the police on 101. You're not in any trouble, we just need to make sure you're safe.”
