A MAN who damaged a car has been ordered to pay compensation to the owner.

Luke Barleycorn, 25, of Bloomsbury Close, Freshbrook, pleaded guilty to damaging the 55-plate Peugeot 307SW between December 4 and December 7 of last year when he came before magistrates sitting in Swindon, where he represented himself.

The bench imposed a conditional discharge and ordered he pay compensation to the owner of £360.

When police stopped the driver of a Mercedes on Drakes Way they found him over the drug drive limit.

Justin Bird, of The Bungalow, Lydiard Millicent, pleaded guilty to a charge of being over the drug drive limit when he came before magistrates sitting in Swindon.

The 24-year-old was found to have 3.9micrograms of tetrahydrocannabinol in a litre of his blood when he was behind the wheel of a W-reg Mercedes A Class on April 23.

The magistrates fined him £250 and banned him from driving for 12 months.

They also ordered that he pay a victim surcharge of £25 and Crown Prosecution Service costs of £85.

A woman facing a charge of assaulting a man has had the charge against her withdrawn.

Yasmine Coldwell, 26, of Poplar Avenue, was accused of assaulting the man on March 13, but the Crown Prosecution Service has withdrawn the charge.

A man accused of supplying class B drugs will stand trial at crown court later this month.

Reece Hicks of Deerhurst Way, Toothill, is charged with being in possession of a quantity of cannabis with intent to supply on April 15 of this year.

The 24-year-old will next appear at Swindon Crown Court on July 29 for the trial.

In the meantime he remains on unconditional bail.

A teenager has admitted harassing another teenage girl.

Magistrates imposed a conditional discharge for 12 months on 18-year-old Naomi Little when she came before magistrates sitting in Swindon.

The Green Valley Avenue resident pleaded guilty to pursuing a course of conduct that amounted to the harassment of another teenage girl between March 31 and April 30 of this year.

She must also pay a victim surcharge of £15 and Crown Prosecution Service costs of £35.

After stealing engine oil from a garage a man has been ordered to pay compensation.

Sean Little, of Harding Street, admitted the theft from Euro Garages on Dorcan Way on April 12 when he came before magistrates sitting in Swindon.

The magistrates ordered that he pay compensation of £19.99 to the garage and consolidated the debt with existing court fines. The 26-year-old was not ordered to pay a victim surcharge of court costs due to his means.

He also admitted breaching a community order that was imposed on April 19, but the magistrates imposed no separate penalty for this and allowed the order to continue.

A man has admitted a charge of using threatening language and behaviour towards an individual who was likely to be caused alarm by it.

Paul Morse, of Holbein Court, admitted the offence dating from May 30 when he came before magistrates sitting in Swindon.

The magistrates imposed a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered he pay a £20 victim surcharge and Crown Prosecution Service costs of £35.

The bench said they had taken his guilty plea into account when imposing his sentence and ordered the debt be consolidated with his existing court fines which will be deducted from his benefits.

A man has been fined after he was found drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Michael Sheehan, 21, of Raleigh Avenue, pleaded guilty to the offence dating from June 8 when he was found on County Road in a drunk and disorderly state.

The magistrates fined him £50 and ordered he pay a victim surcharge of £20, but imposed no order for court costs due to his means. The bench said they had taken his guilty plea into consideration when deciding on his sentence and ordered the fine be consolidated with existing court fines.

Denying a charge of assault and criminal damage a man will now stand trial.

Morgan Sheppard, of Holbein Close, denies assaulting a woman on May 22 of this year and damaging blinds valued at £60 belonging to her.

He will now stand trial at North West Wiltshire Magistrates' Court on August 31. In the meantime the 23-year-old was released on conditional bail not to contact the alleged victim or go to her home address.

Denying that he damaged a fence causing £40-worth of damage a man will now stand trial faced with the charge.

Lawrence Walker, 40, of Princes Street ,denied the allegation dating from May 5 when he came before magistrates sitting in Swindon.

The matter was adjourned for the trial which will be held at North West Wiltshire Magistrates' Court on August 24.

A man has denied a charge of being threatening or abusive towards another man in Covingham.

Neil Whyte, 42, of Bowleymead, pleaded not guilty to the alleged offence on St Patrick's Day this year.

He was released on unconditional bail to attend North West Wiltshire Magistrates' Court in Chippenham on August 31.

A woman has been fined after she made off without paying her taxi fare.

Emma Lloyd, of Twickenham Close, pleaded guilty to the offence dating from October 3 of last year when she appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court.

The bench fined her £40, ordered she pay compensation of £10, a £20 victim surcharge and Crown Prosecution Service costs of £85.

The magistrates said they had taken her guilty plea into consideration when deciding her sentence.
