A suspected drink-driver has been detained by police after a Hot Fuzz-style pursuit and was sleeping off a hangover at Gablecross after being found more than triple the drink-drive limit.
A police officer and a police community support officer from Royal Wootton Bassett and Cricklade Neighbourhood Police Team were called to reports of a disorder in Lyneham on Wednesday evening.
A spokesman for the team said: "An intoxicated male was identified by staff at a takeaway and after a short foot chase through a garden and across a garden gate (very hot fuzz, without the broken fence!) a 26 year old male was detained.
"During our enquiries it came to light that the male had driven his car to the takeaway and we had excellent evidence of him driving, the male was breathalysed and provided a roadside sample of 106mg. He has been arrested and is currently sleeping well at Gablecross custody."
