THE NSPCC says the 15-year-old victim of jailed Aramis Ferrari will need support as she recovers from what happened.
Ferrari, 18, was jailed for a year by a judge at Swindon Crown Court after admitting sexual activity with a child, and taking and distributing an indecent image of a child.
Ferrari corresponded online with the girl, during which she made her age clear to him, and then he sent an indecent picture of her via Facebook after abusing her.
Children's charity the NSPCC says the internet was used as a gateway by offenders to commit more than 3,000 sex crimes against children last year, offences being reported to 38 police forces in England and Wales.
Today an NSPCC spokesman for South West England said: “Ferrari was fully aware that his victim was 15 when the offence occurred, but still took advantage of her vulnerability and abused her despite her repeated pleas for him to stop.
“Ferrari’s disgusting actions – and the lack of remorse and understanding he displayed in the aftermath – are deeply concerning, as the judge in this case recognised.
"He acted with no regard for the effect his behaviour would have on his young victim and even shared images of the abuse on social media.
“It is right that Ferrari faces the consequences of his actions and his victim will now require support as she recovers from what happened.
