WITH school out for summer, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet has opened its doors to an entire range of fun filled activities and entertainment for all the family.

Running right through the summer holidays until Wednesday, August 31, the centre will host a programme of free children’s activities. From creative crafts to live music, the outlet is promising that residents can find everything they need to keep the kids entertained during the school holidays.

Combine shopping with a day of family fun with this line-up of exciting in-centre activities…

Among the activities and special events being staged is the Festival Garden allowing shoppers a break from the outlets designer stores to sit back, relax and soak up the atmosphere. Shoppers are also invited to capture the moment at one of the outlet’s photo selfie stations.

There will also be live acoustic music every Thursday from 5pm until 8pm until Thursday, August 25, 5pm – 8pm.

The popular Sunday Farmers’ Market will continue to be staged throughout the summer and beyond from 10am until 5pm offering freshly baked bread, British cheese and locally produced cider from the Cotswold countryside.

Hornby Hobbies will also be offering some white-knuckle racing sessions for modelling fans every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday until August 27. In the ‘Hornby Hobbies zone’ budding racers can take to the tracks with the centre’s very own scalextric every day throughout summer. Plus, kids can take a piece of the action away with them at the make and take station every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

There will also be create and craft sessions every Wednesday offering everything from cookie decorating to painting, henna painting and flowerpot workshops.

Staff at the outlet have also staged a garden trail around the outlet which will challenge youngsters to test their powers of observation to see if they can spot the clues hiding in windows around the outlet. Entry forms can be picked up from the Visitor Information Centre.

A food festival will also be put on over the weekend of Saturday, August 20 and Sunday, August 21, while Punch and Judy shows will also be popping up on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14, and Saturday, August 27, and Sunday, August 28. There will be three shows a day at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
