A LEADING coach operator says Swindon is its second most popular travel destination in the UK this summer.
Advanced booking figures for National Express, the country’s largest coach operator, show the town is in the top five for coach travel destinations from July 20 to September 1, with hundreds having booked to come here.
Meanwhile seaside resorts such as Poole, Dover and Margate can only take third, fourth and sixth places respectively.
With the summer holidays well underway, National Express has already taken hundreds of thousands of bookings, with many opting for a ‘staycation’ in Britain.
The top ten most popular destinations this summer holiday are:

- Dover

- Margate
- Fareham
- Bury St Edmunds
- Chepstow
- Thetford
