ADMITTING two charges of voyeurism, a man has been warned by magistrates that they are not ruling out prison.

Martin Law, 36, of Brean Road, initially pleaded not guilty to the two offences dating from March 22 and March 23, 2013, and was due to stand trial this morning. But last week he changed his plea to guilty on both counts.

The matters first came to light three years ago when police examined his mobile phone and found the offending footage of a woman in a private act.

Swindon magistrates adjourned proceedings until September 9 for Law to be assessed by the probation service and a presentence report prepared on him.

They warned him that the probation service would be asked to consider all options, including custody. He was further warned that the matter could still be sent to the crown court for sentencing.

In the meantime he was released on conditional bail not to contact the complainant.

Having pleaded guilty to the offence he must sign the sexual offences register within three days and notify the police of any changes to his address or any foreign travel. Upon sentencing he will be told how long he must continue to sign on.
