A TEACHER has denied a string of historic sexual offence allegations made against him.

Gavin Gray, 45, now living at St Johns Wood Road, Ryde, Isle of Wight, denied all of the charges that were alleged to have taken place in Swindon 15 years ago when he appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court yesterday.

It is alleged that he indecently assaulted a girl under the age of 16 on 12 occasions between December 1, 2000, and April 19, 2001.

He also pleaded not guilty to two charges of taking the child from the person who had lawful control of her.

Chairman of the bench Nigel Spinney adjourned matters to be heard at Swindon Crown Court for a plea and pretrial hearing on September 9. In the meantime he was released on conditional bail not to contact the complainant.
