THINKING the woman he saw outside Subway eating a sandwich with her aunt was the same woman he had been chatting up, a man made a sexual remark to her.

But Mark Bailey admitted he had been mistaken and said that even he would have been offended if a stranger had made the same remark to a female relative of his as he had.

On Wednesday afternoon the Culvery Court resident pleaded guilty to a charge of using abusive language that caused harassment during the offence on July 23 outside Subway on Fleet Street.

Magistrates sitting in Swindon fined the 44-year-old £40 and ordered he pay £40 Crown Prosecution Service costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
