AN ELEVEN-year-old boy has escaped with minor injuries after being attacked by a masked man.
The boy was walking along Mannington Lane at around 6pm on Wednesday, August 3, when the incident happened.
An unknown man jumped from the bushes along the side of the lane, pulled the boy to the floor and assaulted him.
Although very shaken, the victim managed to escape and ran home – thankfully his injuries were only minor.
The suspect is described as Asian, around 19-years-old, wearing a white bandana over his mouth and nose and a black bandana over his head.
He was also wearing a black tracksuit with black and white patches on the front of the top.
PC Julie Box said: "We would like to speak to anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious in this area at this time.
"If you can help with our enquiries please contact me."
Anyone with information is asked to call the force non-emergency line on 101 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
