A 21-year-old man has pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in public but has denied damage to a shop mannequin.

Michael Sheehan, of Raleigh Avenue, Walcot, appeared before magistrates and was fined £100 and told to pay a £30 victim surcharge.

He also pleaded not guilty to causing £2,500 worth of damage to a mannequin in Top Shop, The Parade, on July 4.

He has been remanded on bail until October 5 when the case is brought before Chippenham magistrates.

In the meantime he is forbidden from entering Top Shop.

A man has appeared before magistrates sitting in Swindon charged with drink-driving.

Adam Vowles, 35, of The Peak, Purton, pleaded guilty to the offence which took place in early July.

He was fined of £200 and told to pay a victim surcharge of £85, plus another £85 towards the cost of the prosecution and banned from driving for two years, which would be reduced if he attends a special drink-driving course.

He was also given six months of treatment for alcohol dependency.

A teenager has pleaded guilty to assault after appearing in Swindon Magistrates' Court.

Luke Archer, 19, of Ancona Close, accepted that on May 7 he, along with Daniel Young, assaulted Daniel Piper.

He was given a 12-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge and contribute £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

A woman has appeared before magistrates for non-payment of a fine, totalling £119.50 imposed last August.

Claire Pover, 26, of Willington Road, was allowed more time and told to pay £29.50 per month from August 25.

A man who failed to comply with the requirements of a community order has been fined by Swindon magistrates after he admitted the breach.

Reece Cannon, 23, of Galsworthy Close, was fined £40 after he failed to attend appointments on June 21 and July 6.

A 43-year-old man has been fined by magistrates after failing to comply with the requirements of a curfew order imposed on May 23.

Paul Christian, 43, of Pound Close, was fined £40 after breaching on five separate occasions a curfew imposed between 8pm and 8am. He admitted the breach at Swindon Magistrates' Court on July 25.

A 25 year old man has pleaded guilty to breaching a community order after he failed to turn up for unpaid work.

Alistair Wilson, 25, of Wolsely Avenue, was made the subject of a community order on January 22 and on April 17 and July 3 he failed to attend as instructed.

He was fined £100 and told to pay further costs of £40.
