SIZZLING sunshine and bangers are on the menu as the Sausage and Ale Trail returns to Old Town next month.

The hugely popular event returns for its third year on September 4 from midday to 5pm - serving up everything from champagne sausages to lager sorbet.

The event, organised by the Old Town Business Association, provides punters with the chance to try a selection of weird and wonderful foods cooked up by town businesses including Eggelicious, Dotty's Cafe, The Core and Helen Browning's Chop House.

Proceeds go towards this year's Old Town Christmas lights switch-on.

Now the hunt is on for volunteer marshals to lend a hand during the jam-packed day.

Volunteers need to be over 18 and will be stationed at various positions throughout the day. They will be a point of contact for the public.

The Old Town Business Association also need two DBS/CRB checked volunteers to man the lost children area, along with pop-up gazebos measuring 3m x 3m and 4m x 4m.
